Pictures from my balcony at the Maui Beach Hotel

These are pictures from my balcony at the Maui Beach Hotel. You can see the Iao Valley from one angle and the beach from another.

My bags have just been picked up in preparation for our next move. We are now going to the island of Molokai 2 nights. Molokai was the site of a leprosy colony run by St. Damien. Many native Hawaiians got leprosy from the Europeans since they had not natural immunity. My book club read the book Molokai. I would highly recommend it.

Today will be a long day. We go to lunch. Then bus to Lahaina Town to shop. At 6:00 we begin loading to take the ferry over to the other island - about 2 hours (we won't get there until 8:00 and then we eat dinner - I normally go to bed at 9:00).

It rained this morning and is very humid.

Molokai is very remote. The hotel does not show that it has internet service so I will not be posting in the journal for the next several days.

Molokai has the highest sea cliffs in the world. At some point in time half the island slid into the ocean leaving these cliffs.
