A Day At Sea
Jan 12, 2014
|Our ship sailed away from the port of Houston at 9:00 last night.
As we pulled away from the dock, we were all sitting at dinner.
The menu included things like Ceviche, Shrimp Cocktail, Soup (Both, Hot and Cold Soups), Salads, Prime Rib, Salmon, Fish, Hawaiian Pork, Crayfish Ettoufe, and desert of all kinds including Crème Brule’ and a Soufflé with a Custard Sauce.
But let me also tell you about the bad part of the day.
Due to a breakout of Noro Virus, the ship remained in port for some time, undergoing a complete and thorough sanitizing.
We should have boarded the ship at 12:30 but it was 6:30 before that happened.
We spent most of our day sitting in the lobby of the hotel, waiting for the word to come down that the ship could be boarded.
One more thing we learned after boarding was that our itinerary had to be changed due to the delay in sailing.
Now we will have two days at sea and the Honduran Island of Roatan will be the first stop.
So that is the way it went when we had expected to have much more to write about.
Knowing tomorrow would be better, we looked forward to a good night of sleep.
