Taylor's Travel Tales etc. travel blog

I'm afraid to even mention our cold temps. But last night it got down to 41 degrees and right now it is 40 and we are under a freeze warning for later tonight....Brrrr.

Yesterday was cool with a high of 68, but that's not too bad. It was laundry day for me, so the temperature didn't affect me much. I did 7 loads and Jackie made 3 trips to the dryer, but we got it done. I hadn't had time to do laundry for several days.

While I was busy with laundry, Jackie and Chuck drove up to Davenport to the AT&T store to get Jackie's new I-Phone. Now he has to learn how to use it. But he will get used to it in a few days.

Kathleen texted me and mentioned they were going to have supper at Lake Alfred Diner and did we want to go. Well, of course we did!!! Well, by time to go our group had grown to ten. Bonnie & Owen, Paul & Eileen, Carle & Kathleen, Chuck & Sheila, and Jackie & I. The food was excellent as always. I had chicken and dumplings.....very good choice.

We came home and resumed playing with Jackie's new phone until bedtime.

This morning it was too cold for me to crawl out of bed. Jackie got up at 7:30 to have breakfast and get ready to play his shuffle tournament. I intended to go keep score, but not in 40 degree weather. He put on several layers and went to play. I sat here in front of the fireplace with the heat on.

At 1:00 it had warmed up to 48 degrees, so I headed over to the rec hall to work on bags for the sleep mats. Not many showed up to help today, but I understand as it was just a good day to stay in.

I came home at 3:00 and worked on my new project that I will tell you more about later. At 4:00 I went back to the rec hall for our pancake supper. We had a huge crowd and Pauline and I sold $108.00 worth of tickets. Nope, I didn't win anything. But the pancakes were delicious and I got to visit with everybody that stopped by the table. That's always fun.

Later we had three tables of people playing manipulation. Of course the whole rec hall was full because darts, men's pool, several tables of euchre and hand and foot were all playing too. But that's what makes it fun. We all had a great time.

Now we are home and snug as a bug in our little condo on wheels.

Our friends John & Joyce still need prayers. His surgery got cancelled on Monday because one of the surgeons had an emergency surgery and couldn't be there. Now it is rescheduled for tomorrow morning. They have had a long week of tests and waiting.

Until next time.....God Bless you all.....
