Got up at 5:15 a.m. this morning to say goodbye to Mike and Denise before they went to work. Said goodbye to the grand kids last night so they wouldn't have to get up so early. We got on the road at 6:00 a.m. and missed the morning rush.
We saw several deer on the side of the road that had been hit by vehicles so we kept our speed down. We also saw a wolf crossing the road right in front of us and later saw another one that didn't make it. I didn't know they had wolves in Tennessee but these were way too big and furry to be coyotes or dogs.
We stopped and had a healthy breakfast at Cracker Barrel and for lunch we had peanuts, cashews and M&Ms to counteract it. We arrived at our hotel in Van Buren, AR at 3:30 p.m. and we were upgraded to a suite!
It is much colder here than in Lewisburg but at least the sun was out most of the way. Possible snow showers here overnight but isn't supposed to be too bad.
We only have about 180 miles to go to get to my dads so we are going to sleep in and take our time tomorrow since we can't check into our hotel in Ada until (supposedly) 3:00 p.m.
Well, it is time to settle in and watch a little TV (actually it is about 42").
