last line in nicaragua

Today started nice and early at 5:00am. We wanted to get a head start to beat the rush of tour buses at the Nicaragua border. We traveled about 4 hours to a town called Leberea. There we learned there was a backup at the border because of computer issues regarding the departure tax. We had to wait at the bank to pay the tax. The line was 3 hours long! That was an unexpected delay, that's for sure. It turned out to be the day of traveling in lines, as we then waited at the Costa Rica and Nicaragua borders. I learned a valuable lesson today...how to carry 2 backpacks at the same time. Big one goes on the back and the smaller one goes on the front. Works great. We had to walk across the borders and therefore carry all of our items. It was about a mile hike with heavy packs and hot sun. I'm not complaining about the weather though because it was nice to be dry :) We made it to Ometempe Island about 6:30pm. Dinner was with the locals that we are staying with. We are split up with 3 different families. Tomorrow we plan to explore the volcanic island.

Will repost as I can. Thanks for following!
