museum on our walk

Ferris Wheel at the Prater

entrance to KunstHausWien

I arrived in Vienna and was met at the airport by my brother who is temporarily relocated here for his company. He has a very modern (and huge) apartment in the museum quarter and it seems everyhing is walking or quick public transport distance. We walked around in the evening admiring all the HUGE museums and had dinner at Ellas Mediterranean restaurant. It was an early night for me suffering with a bit of jetlag. Today (Sunday) was spent enjoying the Spanish Riding School performance. We had standing room tickets as seats are as expensive as the opera. We continued on visit an exhibit by photographer Michael Comte at one of the most unique museums I have been in KunstHaus Wien. The building was designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser-an artist with a vey interesting philosophy. In between we took a walk through the Prater Amusement park-it was raining quite hard and most of the rides were not occupied but it was fun to see such a landmark. Those of you who have seen The Third Man might recognize it. Now we are off to dinner. Tomorrow brings some exploration on my own and the opera. Keep your fingers crossed that I can stay awake.
