October 23, 2013 – Lee’s Summit, Missouri to Alma, Arkansas
I got away about 9:30 this morning. I decided that I would go down 71 instead of going down 69. 71 took me down the western edge of Missouri. I hadn’t been down that way for a long time. It is 4 lane all the way now. It was a pretty day and a nice drive. The leaves are just beginning to turn in Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. The further south I came, the less color.
I am in Alma, Arkansas tonight at a KOA campground. It is set back from the highway so it is quiet. There is a pond here, and there must be a couple of dozen ducks on it. They are mostly wild ducks so it is fun to watch them.
It is much warmer here although it is still cool. Today’s high was around 70 here, and tonight it is only supposed to go down to 49. Much better, but still not good enough for me.
