Heavy, dense fog greeted us this morning. We delayed our departure until we could see across the river and it was around 8:15 when we finally made a dash for it.
Sometimes the sky would be clear for a bit and sometimes the fog slowed us to a safe speed, well under the speed limit.
It was around 10:00 AM when the fog cleared for good.
The GPS led us through the town of Alexandria, LA, which was no fun. We passed several police officers but they paid no mind to us and our towing of a car behind the fifth wheel.
We slowed to a crawl as we approached the bridge at Lake Charles, LA. Three lanes were merging into one so we creeped along to the top of the bridge and then things opened up and we had no problems for the remainder of the trip.
It was 1:20 when we arrived at the Gulf Coast RV Resort and were soon parked in Site #27. The site is narrow but long enough that we didn’t have to disconnect anything.
We paid for only one night but may stay put for another night to drive through Houston on Sunday morning.
We’ll see how I feel tomorrow.
Mike & Sandy are expected to arrive around 6:00 and we’ll be joining them for some Cajun Seafood for dinner.
As a matter of fact, we need to begin getting ready for our friends.
It will be good to see them again.
Yep we are glad to be in Texas and we are sure that Life is Good!
