With funding from Tennessee, North Carolina, and several counties in both states, the gates for Great Smoky Mountains National Park opened today and the roads were jammed with tourists. I drove up the road along Little Creek to get some water pictures. It was cloudy most of the day, but it didn’t rain. I’m posting about a dozen pictures that I hope will capture the character of the area. I haven’t shown any food recently so I’m including a picture of lunch at Dakota Jack’s Hawg Pit and the brisket sandwich I had for lunch. It was actually pretty good.
