Staying over one more night was a good idea. We really slept great last night and couldn’t believe that we slept in until nearly 8:00 this morning.
We haven’t done that in years!
The light rain persisted and the ground here is saturated, forcing us to walk around the puddles.
An outdoor temperature in the 50’s and 60’s made the fireplace feel quite nice, and we continued to relax with the computers and our Kindle readers.
I went outdoors between the showers to connect the sewer hose, so that we could dump the tanks before we leave tomorrow.
We are looking at a 6 ½ hour drive tomorrow and Marilyn wants to go down to the historic district of Natchez, once we are all set up.
On Friday we have only 5 hours or so, depending on the road construction on I-10 just east of Beaumont, Texas, for the drive to Gulf Shores RV Park on the west side of Beaumont.
Our friends, Mike & Sandy, are driving over from Houston to meet us and we are all going out to “Floyd’s Cajun Seafood” for dinner.
At this time we are planning to remain for Saturday as well and then continue on to the RGV on Sunday morning, driving through Houston when the traffic is relatively light.
We looked forward to going out for dinner tonight with Ralph & Donna Haines, who are here in West Memphis also.
Just had to be home in time to watch “Survivor” on TV.
A late lunch or early dinner, was the order of the day for us.
We noticed that we had new neighbors who pulled in while we were taking care of showers and getting dressed.
Those folks are new full-timers from the Kansas City area, headed to New Orleans. How exciting!
We still recall very fondly how excited we were about everything this lifestyle had to offer, when we first began.
We still love it but the newness has worn off.
No matter, because we have so much to look forward to, with the friends we haven’t seen for awhile, and places we love but haven’t visited for awhile.
It is sure a pleasure to say with conviction that Life is Good!
