It was nice to be staying another night here in West Memphis.
Marilyn & I both slept poorly last night and I awoke with a swollen gland on the right side of my neck, below the ear.
We drove to a nearby “Cracker Barrel” restaurant for breakfast and then found a filling station to fill the truck with diesel at $3.79 per gallon.
Back at the RV I took some meds and we settled down for the day.
The weather was nice but the forecast was for heavy rain later in the day and overnight.
We thought about staying here another day but they had no room for us as the sites are all taken. I had a back up plan-B.
We could move on to Natchez tomorrow, in the rain, or at least start out.
The office manager called later in the day and said we could stay right here if we wish. So now, that is our plan. I called River View RV Park in Vidalia, LA and cancelled tomorrow night but we still plan to stay overnight there on Thursday.
That is a nice RV Park too. We stayed there once when friends Carl & Linda were traveling with us to the valley.
We could easily stay here in West Memphis for a week or two.
This is a nice place to spend some time just relaxing and watching the barges making their way up or down the Mississippi River.
The rain began today as a light mist in the air and slowly increased in intensity. Fog partially obscured the view of the river out our windows but things remained peaceful.
We watched the ALCS on TV and continued our relaxing day.
Tomorrow, depending on the weather, we may find some good Memphis BBQ.
Then, if we get a break in the rain, we’ll get everything ready to leave on Thursday morning.
We look forward to seeing the friends who are in the valley now, and those who will be arriving at different times over the winter.
That’s enough writing for today folks. Time for baseball.
