We were lucky enough to get 2 more days here at Trav-L-Park, but we had to move to a new site. The place is filled for the weekend. We didn't do much today as far as sightseeing goes. After a trip to WalMart for groceries and to RiteAid to pick up a prescription, I took a walk to the Civil War marker on the property. The 84th Indiana Infantry Regiment bivouacked on the property on September 19, 1863 before participating in the Battle of Chickamauga the next several days. The regiment suffered 125 killed, wounded or missing out of about 380 troops in the 3 day battle. Despite the losses they actively participated in the Siege of Chattanooga and the battles of Lookout Mountain and Missionary Ridge.
