Another early start, the train trip to Paris on the TGV was as expected, very pleasant, 306 kmh on some sections, smooth & comfortable 1st class that is!

A quick walk to Gare d'Austerlitz got us there in time to catch our connecting train Orleans, arrived around 2pm, very warm in the afternoon checking out the old city & Cathedral Sainte-Croix

Hard to describe how big it is - on the other side of the plaza, on max wide angle of the camera, could just get it into frame. Inside just as impressive, with the extra bonus of a full brass concert band in practice, an army band, - we think doing a fund raising concert in aid of wounded soldiers. The band was superb and the acoustics in the cathedral were amazing. ( Tim you would have loved it - they were so smooth & tight).

Our impressions of Orleans old town is beautiful, cobbled streets, heaps boutique shops and musical instrument shops, apparently a Conservatorium is near by, so lots of talented musicians in this town. Again like most of the previous towns we have stayed in there are a huge number of shoe stores. They are not your average Williams or Mathers, very good quality, & at reasonable prices considering. Laura you would in your element!!!

Still trying to sort out what to do tomorrow, the tour that we hoped for is all booked out, so will being having "an Adventure" tomorrow.

PS pictures tomorrow too tired, and need to find more Gigabytes !!!
