Sleep and wind

Ok, one more try at an update using this blog: I'm in Logrono now but here are some notes I've previously tried to send:

Sept 13th: a pamplona now after a wonderful several days of walking--from Hunto to Roncesvalles to Zubiri to here. Mi iPhone is dead due to drowning in the "waterproof" pocket of my "waterproof" rain jacket, which was sadly misnamed.

The passage over the Pyrenees was breathtaking in a number of ways. Steep climbing with extraordinary views and many little magical episodes: walking above the tree line into a herd of sleeping sheep with no sound but that of the wind; then walking into a grove of beech trees and coming upon another herd of sheep, up from their siesta and happily grazing in the hills above me, with the friendly sound of the many bells hanging around their necks; then down into sweet Roncesvalles where I met up again with a jovial group of Irish pilgrims whom I had met during my ordeal at Orisson. They had spread the word of my adventure and resilience, so I am famous in a little traveling bubble of pilgrims.

After a few libations on a terrace in the setting sun, we all went in to a very festive dinner at the albergue La Posada and the I wandered back to the surprisingly luxurious municipal and fell into a deep nd almost dreamless sleep.
