Bill and Mary Ann's truck camper retirement travel blog

It rained all night and we heard the creek rising below our campsite. We didn't get up until about 9 since the rain sounded so good. The road over the quail creek was flooded so there was no way out without risking the truck. Not a great idea to try and do that so we decided to stay another day. This is another great thing about retirement-there are always adjustments to plans without worries of having to be back at a certain time! So we hung out and read and watched the rain come down. It poured several times and the flash floods got worse.Water was cascading down the red cliffs and the road was totally impassable during the big downpours. We saw a flash flood years ago and were amazed by the strength but today's rains and floods have been incredible. We did go hike for a little bit and saw the dinosaur prints but couldn't get to the ruins because of the flooding. Another night here and then we will see if we can get back across the road. It doesn't rain in Utah-ha!
