Wednesday, August 3. Mykonos. Mykonos is considered THE party island in Greece. Jose rented a car and I rented a scooter, and we all (Aspa, Ben, Karen, and Myrto) drove out to Agrari beach, just outside of Hora, the main town on Mykonos. We rented a few chairs and an umbrella. After lazing for a few hours, Karen and I decided to take the scooter into town, stopping at Super Paradise Beach. Super Paradise was definitely a party beach—music blared while young people danced and drank to abandon. As Karen and I were about to leave, we ran into Aspa, Ben, Myrto, and Jose. After some drinks, we all headed to Hora to explore the town, including an area known as Little Venice overlooked by five windmills.
Later that evening, we wandered the narrow pedestrian only streets looking for a place to dance. The entire town was full of people of all ages. We shuffled through crowds from venue to venue until we found a bar which attracted the attention of Jose by its Latin music. We danced the night away here initially to Latin beats, and then later to an 80s mix. I think the DJ noticed that we enjoyed the 80s music and accommodated our tastes.
