The Chateau at La Ferté-St Aubin. We didn't visit - just looked...

Father’s Day in New Zealand and it was nice for David to receive messages from Gary and Jenna. We left our beautiful spot in Hérisson and travelled, mostly by motorway with tolls of €17.30, to La Ferté-Saint-Aubin, Camp Municipal Le Cosson (N 47° 43' 31" E 1° 56' 8"). This is a spacious campground, with large flat pitches and it’s almost empty and very peaceful, except for the trains that go past 150 metres away.

We went for a walk past the Château and into the village before dinner and stopped for a while to watch a petanque (boules) tournament on the other side of the River Cosson. It was a good place for an overnighter, €17.50, with hot showers and clean toilets.
