Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

As Marilyn & I sat beside the campfire with our coffee this morning, our friend Marian walked by on the roadway below our site, with a serious look on her face.

When she returned she stopped at our site to inform us that she had just received news of a death in her family. She also said that they now intend to leave here tomorrow morning, two weeks earlier than originally planned.

We feel sad for our friends and feel helpless at the same time.

We offered help in any way needed, but there isn’t much we can do except love and care about our friends at a time like this.

The only difference between living in a stick & brick home, and living in an RV, at times like this, is that when an unexpected emergency happens, you have to travel back home if you are on the road in your RV.

We planned to join our friends for dinner this evening, going out to a restaurant so that they do not have to prepare a meal at home.

Ken & Jean rode with Jesse & Ginger while Marilyn & I rode with Mike & Marian.

We were soon seated in a large booth at the Texas Roadhouse, where we enjoyed a good meal, along with constant conversation and lots of laughter.

To top it off, Ginger had prepared some delicious bread pudding which we all enjoyed down at their site after returning to the RV resort.

The full moon was beautiful tonight but now we look forward to a good night of sleep and we’ll be up early tomorrow to say “So Long” to our friends.

We hate to see them go, just as we will hate to leave our friends in two weeks when we leave.

So that is the way our day went today. Some Sadness and Some Fun.

Life is Good!
