The Carry-In Brunch was at the top of the list today.
Marilyn & I finished the chores and then began getting ready for the get together with our friends.
We prepared the screened room for the cooking and all the food stuff, while the picnic table under the pine trees was the target for eating our meal.
The food was delicious!
Everyone was carrying in food so I won’t try to tell you who brought what, but we sure had a good variety of food, and everyone seemed to be quite stuffed by the time we stopped eating.
There were sliced Sausage Patties, a French Toast Casserole, a muffin tin with muffins made of Hash Brown Potatoes, Eggs, Cheese, bits of Ham, Green Onions, and maybe some other goodies, Corn Fritters with Maple Syrup, a Mixed Fruit Salad with Lemon Yogurt, Coffee, and Mimosa’s.
We all sat around visiting and allowing the brunch to settle, but after awhile it seemed that a nap might be needed.
In fact a nap was high on my agenda until I got interested in the Cardinals and Cubs baseball game. I have been a lifelong Cardinals fan, and the rivalry with the Cubs is always intense.
Marilyn sat outdoors with her book for awhile, but the rumble of thunder drove her inside. Then she grabbed her cross-stitch project and started working with that.
We have some pictures to share with you dear readers so I will do that if the internet connection cooperates.
Our time here in Colorado is growing short and we plan to begin getting things ready for the move back to Missouri, leaving here right after Labor Day.
It has been a fine summer and the time has gone by too fast.
We have met some new friends and missed some old ones who were unable to be here.
Now we look forward to spending time with our family back in Missouri. Soon though, we’ll be down south in the Rio Grande Valley spending time with friends, and meeting some new ones.
Life is Good!
