Fun, Chores, and more Fun
Aug 13, 2013
|It rained during the night again, so we sat around the empty fire pit this morning.
It didn’t matter that we had no campfire. We enjoyed the early morning quiet, the cool temperatures, clear skies, and the sunshine as it peeked over the top of the mountain.
Jan & Ed walked over to join us, then Marian & Mike arrived.
The conversation and laughter were constant as the morning passed with lots of fun for all of us.
Finally we all knew that it was time to get started on the chores for the day.
Marilyn cleaned the RV, did laundry, and changed the bed linen.
I dumped the holding tanks, repaired the ice maker water line (Again!) and replaced the batteries in our weather station.
I needed to make a run into Canon City in a search for some of the rubber grommets used on the Amana stove grate in our RV.
Marilyn asked me to pick up a few items at Walmart while I was in town.
I invited Mike and Jesse to ride along. Mike said “Sure” but Jesse was taking his truck into the Springs to have a new radio installed.
Mike and I found the grommets at the local RV dealer in Canon City and bought three packages of four grommets each, at a cost of $4.42 per package. I had tried to find these grommets at other places but the price varied from $5.50 to $7.50 per grommet.
Mike and I took some time to look at the Motorhomes on the lot, and found one we liked except for the cost. LOL
A visit to Walmart for groceries and some bird seed finished our adventure for the day, and we headed home.
We noticed the cloud buildup over the mountains, so I put the outdoor furniture away and rolled up the awning.
It sprinkled rain for a few minutes, then the sun returned, so Marilyn took her Kindle out to the screened room to sit in the lounge chair and read.
Later in the evening we walked down to Jesse & Ginger’s to join them along with Mike & Marian. It began to rain only a few minutes after we arrived so the group moved to their screened room. Funny how it happens but we all headed home around dinner time.
Marilyn fixed soup and grilled cheese sandwiches and we settled down to watch a movie.
Tomorrow we have an adventure planned with Ed & Jan.
