Ray & Elaine's 2013 trip through Canada and the USA travel blog

Left: Quebec City

Arrived: Woodstock, New Brunswick

Arrived: August 13th

Depart: August 14th

Our drive today was partially along Highway 132 which hugs the southern shores of the St. Lawrence River from Quebec City. The route takes you through dozens of small Basque villages where the front porches of century-old home crowd the roadway. We went past many old churches, one of which in L'Islet is the Notre-Dame Church built in 1738.

We left Highway 132 at Trois-Rivieres and onto part of the Trans Canada Highway into New Brunswick. Of course, as it has been through a lot of our trip, rain joined us. Oh, well, it is nice to be on a 4 laned highway, smooth and quiet. The countryside is very scenic, everything is green and lush.

On our CB radio and we got to listen to an interesting conversation between a couple of truck drivers!!!!***!! I am learning a whole new vocabulary.

We are staying in a campsite on the St. John River, and scenery across the river is beautiful farmland so we turned our chairs to face out the picture windown at the back the trailer and watch the rain fall and enjoy the view and have a cocktail.

Got to make the best of it. :)
