A photo opportunity

Bachelor number one likes picking wildflowers, going to wine tastings, and dreams...

Following our recent pattern, we decided to get out of the big city and head for the country. We chose one of the top wine growing areas in Hungary and decided on a town called Villany. Pronounced Villania. We took the bus from Budapest to Villany without a place to stay. It's always an adventure when we take the bus to a small town. It's never obvious when we have arrived at our chosen destination. Usually the bus driver doesn't speak English and it's hard to figure out the road signs. We typically ask someone around us who also doesn't speak English and then try to interpret their answer. So far so good.

When we got to Villany, we followed the signs for the tourist office which we were a bit surprised existed. Amazingly someone there spoke English and got us set up at a bed and breakfast right down the street. The B&B turned out to be a separate house from the owner's house and we had it all to ourselves. I mean, we had the full house to ourselves.

We spent a few days wandering around the hills and vinyards in the area soaking in the sun and enjoying some of the local wines. We had an amazing dinner out one night where we were able to sample a number of wines that we were able to flight ourselves. It was a neat way to taste different local wines. The area was really beautiful and we had a very relaxing time in Southern Hungary.
