Sort of a Mixed Bag
Aug 2, 2013
|Marilyn & I sat outdoors with our coffee this morning.
We perused a map, talking about our trip south to the Rio Grande Valley for the winter. We discussed maybe returning to New Orleans and Abbeville, and the travel on the Natchez Trace from Tupelo to Natchez.
As you loyal readers know, we spent last winter in Arizona, and we look forward to returning to our favorite winter digs at Llano Grande RV Resort in Mercedes, Texas, in October of this year.
We already have plans to return to S Padre Island and across the border to visit Mexico.
Marilyn & I both needed haircuts today, so we soon headed into town and it didn’t take long before we both had much improved looks.
We walked over to the grocery store to pick up a few items before heading back home.
One item I discovered at the store was Key Lime Pie flavored Blue Bell Ice Cream. Friends Chuck & Coletta, who were here at Mountaindale recently, had mentioned this ice cream to us, but cautioned us that it is very difficult to find.
Not only did we find it but it was on sale for $3.99 per half gallon.
Back at the resort, we put groceries away and then I took a shower and put on clean clothing, ready to relax for the day.
I went outdoors, lit the grill, and when it was hot, I put a couple of rib eye steaks on to cook. Marilyn heated leftover green beans, potatoes and onions, then fixed a nice bowl of fresh cut cantaloupe.
We are trying to eat only one main meal per day, so that was it!
Once things were all cleaned up after lunch, Marilyn & I went to the screened room to read from our Kindles.
A bit later I remembered that I needed to go to the office to pay our rent for the month of August.
When Ginger ran our credit card, it was declined. Three times!
I called customer service and was told that our information had been compromised and they have sent new cards with a new account number.
I am not angry at the company and actually I am happy that they are vigilant about monitoring charges to my credit card.
In any case they re-instated my card for several charges, until we receive the new cards next week.
So goes our day today.
Sort of a mixed bag kind of day.
No matter because we are sure that Life is Good!
