While driving Mother to take care of arrangements, one stop was at our church, Holy Family in Orange, CA. I had always known there was a huge old tree in front of the rectory, but didn’t know the history of it.
As we exited the rectory, I took a photo of the enormous roots that were taller than an automobile and noticed a plaque explaining that it is a Pioneer Landmark. It is a Moreton Bay Fig Tree that was planted in March 1875. Wow, I didn’t know we had such a historical tree here in town.
