Lake Barrine - The Teahouse - you can see through the front...

Lake Barrine - Yeah baby! Fab views!

Lake Barrine - Pip's little friend, the pelican, the pelican, it's beak...

Next morning we headed straight for a Teahouse that Andrew had also recommended (thanks for all your great tips!) that was by the shore of nearby Lake Barrine. There aren't any big advertising signs on the main road for the place, only a modest national park sign with a spoon and fork symbol. So we wondered if we were heading down the right lane. But after entering the place, we were in no doubt at all! Lake Barrine Teahouse is beautifully sited, with walls of windows and verandahs overlooking the huge lake. You feel as though you are in fact ON the lake. Has anyone seen the movie, The Lakehouse?

Yummy bacon and egg toasted sangers and bottomless tea - Pip was mystified as to these special bottomless cups :) - were just right to appreciate the view and while away time watching the lake ducks dive down and bob up all over the place. Yes! We appreciated nature - hooray hurrah!

The only (big) disappointment here was that a bloke started up his power sander just underneath our part of the verandah, and continued to rev it across a wooden cafe table as we tried to relax. Not possible. Well, I say, how INAPPROPRIATE!! I felt suitably cranky about our ambience being ruined but couldn't find a feedback form to complain on and didn't trust myself not to combust in speaking to them in person! Look out LBT, I might just send you an email one day...
