Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We sure had a nice time yesterday evening, at the cookout hosted by Jesse & Ginger. Everyone brought food and we enjoyed the conversation and constant laughter.

It was also good to get to bed last night and we took advantage of the cool, dry climate along with the quiet and peacefulness of the campground, to sleep in this morning.

We shared our coffee before I jumped into the shower.

Feeling all refreshed, I started on the outdoor chores while Marilyn started indoors.

With the help of Mike and Jesse, we set up the screened room, complete with carpet, rope lights, a picnic table, plants, chairs and a small table. Then I added one of the beautiful hanging lanterns we got from Janet.

That outdoor hideaway is quite nice and we finally had time to sit out there with a cold drink and share quiet conversation.

I also connected the sewer hose, put up the tripod stabilizer, set up chairs and tables, along with the grill, and got the bird feeders and the chimes out.

All is well but there is more to get done so we’ll continue working on it and then I’ll post some pictures of the set-up.

Ginger & then Jesse and their grandson, Colt, stopped by to visit for awhile. Mike & Marian gave us a shout to see if we needed anything from town.

It is nice that we check with each other when we go to town because it is 16 miles to the nearest store.

The clear sky which greeted us this morning, gradually gave way to some clouds as the day progressed.

We spoke to our daughter, Jennifer, and our granddaughter Lauren, using Skype. It was good to see their smiling faces.

Later in the day, Mike & Marian stopped by for a cold drink and conversation.

I grilled some pork patties for dinner while Marilyn fixed a baked potato and some veggies with a nice sauce.

With things put away for the night we relaxed and looked forward to another fine day tomorrow.

Life is Good!
