More Houston skyline heading south

This time we're on an upper road

I don't know how clear it is but that's the Reliant Stadium...

Flags are at half-staff to honor the 4 firefighters killed in Houston....

Our campsite at Safari RV Park.

A big baseball/softball complex was right down the road from us.

I don't know if anyone from here got to the big leagues...

Hi ho! Hi ho! Back on the road we go!!

Left this morning around 10:00 for the 55-mile trip south to League City where we'll be staying at the Safari RV Park for 5 days while we sort stuff back to where it belongs and just sort of rest up and get re-acclimated to the Ti after our motel stay. Don't plan on doing much here; just relaxing...and geocaching...and restocking the fridge.

Ran into traffic on the way south on I-45. Seems everyone is headed to the beaches in Galveston...the weekend place for Houstonians. With the hot, very humid weather we've been having, I can't say that I blame them.

Haven't done too much here in League City. Got my geocache-of-the-day each day; restocked the fridge. Went to Cracker Barrel for dinner this evening courtesy of Rob and Sue Patterson, friends from one of my RV boards. It was so neat to actually put a face to a name. Had a very enjoyable time. All packed up and ready to leave for Rayne, Louisiana tomorrow where we'll be staying at the same campground we stayed at on the way to Houston. We really ARE headed for South Dakota but I surely don't want to mess around with any tornadoes in the center of the U.S. so we're taking a roundabout way north.
