The city at dusk

It began raining in the night and continued for most of the day-enough that we all bought umbrellas. A very cold, rainy day caused us to seek shelter inside. We visited the San Telmo Museum of Basque culture and society. It was very interesting.

Most shops here close between noon at 2 PM (or even later). This was the case in the areas of France we visited as well. Once you get used to the idea, it seems very civilized. After we finished touring the museum it was after 2 PM, so we headed back to our Pension for an afternoon nap.

This evening we participated in a pinxtos tour with San Sebastian Food (www.sansebastianfood.com). It was the most fantastic tour ever. We visited 6 different pintxos bars-for food and drinks. I drank everything offered, from txakoli, a slightly sparkling white wine, to sherry. The food was fabulous. We ate things we would never have know to ask for.

Another brief walk after the tour and it was time for bed.
