Jim & Judy going west travel blog

Hi everyone,

Iowa is a long State to cross to the other side, we were traveling on Hwy. 80 but switched to Hwy 30 which is only a two lane but so much nicer with more to see and no semi's, which was nice because we ran into a couple storms. No Desert or Mountains, just kinda boring. When we got to Le Claire Iowa we stayed that night and went to see where they filmed "The American Pickers" One of our favorite shows. It was cool and we got to go in and look around the Shop and take pictures. We did not see Mike, Frank or Danielle, the stars of the show, but may go back today, the 6Th, because Monday is filming day for their TV program. We didn't stay far last night, in Clinton, IA. Then we will head home and I think we are ready to be home, however we have had a great trip and met some very nice people along the way . One of the couples that we met were from Newaygo, Mi. and we were exploring the First Pony Express station in Iowa, very interesting, also checked out Buffalo Bill Cody and his home town which was Le Claire, Iowa also. We like to find History Spots and Museums with information from the past. Lots of people vacationing at this time of year around our age, retired, that was nice meeting people from all over. The only bad thing about this time of year is that it is Graduation time for Collage's, University's and High School's so it was a challenge finding Motels/Hotels that were not full, on the week-ends. Only had one that was not that great. So not doing too bad. Can't wait to sleep in our own bed. We Missed everyone and wished we were all traveling West together. Our favorite way to travel and our favorite area to travel. "Out West". See you all soon.

Good Luck on your on your trip to Europe Sharon and Richard, esp. Cycling, our favorite thing to do. Be safe and Be Careful.

Love, Jim and Judy
