Vern & Mary's Excellent RV Adventure travel blog

We were going to go to Anaheim for a couple of days but changed our minds at the last minute and decided to head directly to Madera instead. The half way point there is Boron, Ca. which is in the Mojave desert just down the road from Edwards Air Force Base and the location of the old 20 mule team boron mines. Seemed like and endless line of Fed Ex trucks along hwy 58 I guess they use it to by pass the LA traffic and climbing the grapevine. I had the hell scared out of me when we pulled in, while I was in the office I heard a loud explosion and thought maybe the coach blew up, turned out to be a jet from Edwards AFB breaking the sound barrier causing an incredibly loud sonic boom. The name of the park is The Arabian Oasis RV Park, no idea where that name came from.
