Millers Rest Area near Tonopah

This morning was one of the those perfect days, weather is just right and we were ready to get on the road, one of our favorite things to do! As we pulled out of our site at Preferred RV Resort, we stopped by the air pumps to top off the tires on the motorhome. We were just ahead of Ed & Pat getting ready to do the same. They are traveling north to Reno just as we are, but we won't be traveling together. We bid one another farewell with plans to meet again later this summer in Chimacum, Washington.

We next topped off our fuel supply at $3.58/gallon since fuel prices across Nevada can be unpredictable.

We found that our favorite lunch spots in Pahrump were closed for some reason, so we stopped at Scotty's Junction up the road where there is a massive paved parking area for a quick lunch in the motorhome. As we got back on the highway, we encountered an occasional wind gust, but nothing significant and had a smooth ride through Goldfield and Tonopah.

We decided to spend the evening at the rest area about 10 miles west of Tonopah. When we arrived, there were 2 other motorhomes in the overnight parking area, but throughout the evening more arrived and there were eventually about 12 rigs parked for the night.
