Argentina Trip 2013 travel blog

On Tuesday 19 March 2013 we flew up to Puerto Iguazu. We arrived late in the afternoon as the plane was delayed. Checked into our hotel and then had a walk around town as it was too late to go to the falls. The falls close at 6 pm so it is best to make it an entire day trip. On Wednesday we spent the entire day at the falls. It rained in the morning and we thought it would rain all day but it did clear up by mid morning.

The falls have 3 stations - Estacion ( Central station), Estacion Cataratas ( Falls Station) and Estacion Garanta del Diablo (Devil's Throat Station). We boarded the train to Estacion Cataratas where you can do the Upper and Lower walks. We first did the Upper walk where you can look done on the falls. The view and the roar of the water was absolutely fantastic. Then we did the lower walk and got wet as we got closer to the falls. Luckily we had our ponchos to keep us dry. After lunch we boarded the train to Estacion Garanta del Diablo, for the walk to the Devil's Throat. At the Devil's Throat you are so close that the water sprays back up and we all got drenched. It was a great experience.
