Lee & Betty Teach us Shuffleboard
Feb 18, 2013
|For some reason I woke early this morning, reverting back to my old “pre-retirement” habit.
I finally got up, expecting to get on the internet to read e-mails, messages, and the blogs of friends.
No Internet Service!
I thought we had that resolved. At least it was working when I went to bed last night.
Marilyn finally got up, put on the coffee, and sat with me for awhile. We listened to each other whine about the lack of Wi-Fi service until I finally made a call to Mediacom.
I spoke to a nice young lady who tried several things and Voila, we were back in business.
So far for the remainder of the day, the Wi-Fi has been rock solid and fast. Great!
We did a few chores after breakfast, then went for a walk.
We completed just a tad over 2.6 miles before we arrived back to the comfort of our recliners.
Marilyn fixed a very tasty chicken, onion, green pepper, stir fry for our lunch. I added some fajita seasoning and sprinkled it with several dashes of Mongolian Fire Oil. Woo Hoo!
That was good!
Lee & Betty asked us to go play on the shuffleboard court so we took off in the hottest part of the day.
We played two games, learning about the rules and strategy, with Lee and Marilyn winning the second game while Betty and I managed to win the first game thanks to Betty scoring 22 points in the final frame.
The sun was really hot so a cold drink was in order after the second game.
We gathered at our place where I fixed Gin & Tonics for Lee and myself, while Betty fixed margaritas for her and Marilyn.
We visited for awhile and then our friends had to leave for another activity they have scheduled for tonight.
So we are going to settle down for some TV and a good night of sleep tonight.
Tomorrow is another day with no busy schedule for us. We can do whatever we like.
Life is Good!
