Made it to La Boca, outside of Trinadad, where we plan to spend time lazing on the beach, snorkeling, and drinking rum (only because the water is not to be trusted). The bus from Habana to Trinidad took 5 ½ hours, which is difficult to fathom when one looks at a map of Cuba. My pedometer, which will hereafter be referred to as “The Precious”, is misbehaving – on the bus ride over, it somehow decided that I took over 2000 stairsteps and 18,000 steps. Granted, the bus ride was a bit rocky, perhaps it was thinking I was using one of those Jack LaLane wiggling band contraptions… Anyway, all is well, and I am hoping that we can find an internet site to update tomorrow. Up early at 6, woke the ladies and had a wonderful breakfast thanks to Rolando and Marisol. We left Havana at 9 for Trinidad. Six hours later we finally arrived! Liliana and her husband were waiting for us in their 57 Chevy and took us to their casa particulare in La Boca. Tomorrow we will relax in the sea, sleep in(finally), read, and swim. Sounds good. Rum is incredible, we are tasting our way through Cuba sampling 7 year old rum. Beach tomorrow. B
