Our final port call in the Caribbean is Costa Maya, Mexico. This modern "resort" was established primarily for the cruise industry. It is a short stop for most cruise lines and basically is a small grouping of stores, bars and restaurants to service the cruise ships ... a stop-off between the U.S. and Cancun and other Central American ports of call of the cruise industry. You get the feeling there is cruise ship company money that has built this port. There is no local community to visit ... only the port and two small communities accessible only by taxi, bus, etc. It felt like a tourist trap ... but hey, that's only my opinion. Today was rainy and we departed at 2PM, so we went on shore for only a couple of hours ... nothing spectacular. A few pics document our day here.
