So hard to believe we are spending our last full day in South America. We were up early to pack our bags so they would be ready for Alberto to move over to the main house to be kept until our departure this evening. Fortunately, we went over a little early for breakfast & our van for the wine tour would be coming a little later(9:10). Maria took great pleasure in showing me around their lovely home. (Now that there family is grown, they have a small apartment in the basement, and are proud to show off the rest of the house. They have developed a small wine cellar below also, where there is a table & obviously can be used for a cozy little wine dinner. I'm not sure if they actually do this, but I had read on Trip Advisor that that was their plan. The walls are painted with lovely murals done by their daughter. When we returned later in the afternoon, Maria welcomed me into the kitchen where she was cooking and putting up fruit compotes, apples, peaches, plums from her own trees. She is a very lovely person, and although she doesn't speak English, and not a lot of Spanish, she had no trouble communicating her love for her home & how proud she is of it.
Wine Tour #2
We enjoyed a leisurly breakfast & then Alberto came in to tell us that the van was here to pick us up for another day of wine-tasting. We were so happy to see that Rami was again going to be our guide. Today we would be visiting FOUR vineyards in the Lujan de Cuyo Valley, much closer to where we were staying. Already on the van were 2 couples from the US, one from Tucson AZ & the other from Chicago.
