It’s hard to keep track of the days, never mind the time. We haven’t worn a watch since we left Canada, and man it’s hard to keep track of time. Jan 7th we met up with the Osborne’s and their friends, in Playa del Carmen. We had lunch there with them at the Tequila Barrel, before going our own way. We did a small shopping splurge at Walmart before heading for the bus station. We hopped on the local ADO bus line, which dropped us off at the highway, just a couple of miles from the coastal town of Puerto Morelos. It cost us 26 pesos each (around $2.00 Cdn) each way. When we arrived at our corner, Turkey insisted we stop at the local bar and order a Michelada. The best ever!!
Well, people come and people go. Jan 9th we had some visitors from Winnipeg in Puerto Morelos, who were staying at El Sid, an all-inclusive just down the road from us. They got a tour of the town from Denis, and then wound up at the condo for some beer and snacks, before heading back down the beach towards their hotel.
Denis Y Ruth, Turkey and I all had a little down time, before heading out for supper in P.M. We went to an all time favourite of all of us, “Cantina Habanero”. We had a few Margaritas, Dos XX’s, and some fine Mexican cuisine. It was a really nice evening, and our last one in P.M. Back to Denis y Ruth’s for a cocktail before heading back to our Bed & Breakfast. Our ride to the airport was picking us up at 3:30 am, so we tried to head to bed early. Our time in Puerto Morelos has come to an end, and we must move on. Hopefully the next destination will treat us as kindly as this one. . Turkey says his bike has been calling to him, but I have been trying to persuade him to stay in Mexico. We will see how it goes for the next couple of weeks.
