Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

We had another adventure on the agenda for today.

Trent & Teresa drove over to ride with Marilyn & me while Bob & Janet rode with Jesse & Ginger.

We followed Jesse to a place Ginger had mentioned several times. The Queen Creek Olive Mill was interesting as they grow, harvest and sell olives, having about 2500 trees at the present time with about 7500 more trees soon to be planted.

We learned interesting things about the olive business today. Did you know that each tree produces about 150# of olives at harvest time, which is once a year, usually between October and December. That harvest converts to only ONE GALLON of olive oil per tree.

The olive mill had many related items for sale including different flavors of olive oil and olives, plus a restaurant on site.

They also give tours and we all purchased tickets for the tour, at $5.00 each.

The tour lasted only 30 minutes but that is where we learned the interesting facts about the farming of olives.

When we left the olive mill, it was lunch time so we drove to, of all places, the Olive Garden.

We enjoyed a leisurely lunch with lots of good food, great service, conversation and some laughter.

Back at the RV, Trent & Teresa came in for awhile and we had a nice visit.

We hated to see our friends leave but it was getting close to time for “Survivor” to come on TV.

I do have some pictures to share with you folks.

It has been another awesome day and we are sure that Life is Good!
