Nashville, Tennessee (Two Rivers Campground)

|October 25 - November 1/12
The day started off good, a nice day to drive south. We got a cache at one of Kentucky’s rest stops on Hwy 65. A little ways south of Cincinnati, the tire pressure monitor for one of the trailer tires went off and the tire was losing air fast. We were able to get off the busy highway to call for help. We waited 2 hours before a tow truck could help us. As we were waiting, the truck batteries drained and we couldn’t get the truck started. Mike tried the trailer batteries to boost the truck batteries, but no luck. As we were sitting there totally stranded, James Buckson came to our rescue. He was able to give us a boost. He was really a great guy to help us out. A short time after that the tow truck changed the tire, thanks to Sue and Tony. We were able to find a tire centre and get the tire repaired... It was a nail that we picked up somewhere. As the tire dealer showed us the nail, we noticed that the tire was starting to come away from the lining. So, we decided to buy a new tire. We hit the road again and made it into Nashville and set up in the dark, not just once, but twice (the sewer hose was to short the first time). We travelled through 3 states.
Oct. 26 to Nov. 1
Friday, Mike and I spend the day buying food and supplies. The fridge was emptied for the border crossing. We needed everything, cheese, fruit, vegetables and meat. We even emptied our liquor collection so that we can fill up for the trip home. Roscoe couldn’t wash the RV due to the rain and we had to re-book.
Saturday, we spent the day organizing and cleaning. We were able to get tickets to go to the Grand Ole Opry for the 9:30 show just down the road. We went to dinner at Chuy’s, a Mexican restaurant in the Opry Mills Mall. I met a lady from Tampa, Florida travelling by herself on business. The bartender thought we were together. I invited her to dine with us. She also had tickets to the same show we are now Facebook friends. The show had a few up and coming stars along with Vince Gill, Connie Smith and Charlie Daniels and a singer comedian, Jimmy Dickens 91. It was great to see Charlie Daniels Band perform "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", it was his 76 birthday the next day.
Sunday, we got up early to go to see the Tennessee Titans play the Indianapolis Colts. Mike was able to get tickets online cheap. We parked the truck a mile or so from the stadium and walked in. Our seats were the last one on the top row of the stadium. They were cheap but the view of Nashville was fabulous. It was a beautiful day but very windy. I tried to put popcorn into my mouth and it ended up in Mike’s face and our neighbours. Did I mention we had to climb 37 + steps to our seats, what a good workout.
Wednesday, we decided to go for a drive to Flying J to get propane and went to see the movie Hotel Transylvania. It was a great day to drive and get some caches.
Thursday, Roscoe and Chad washed and polished our RV. They did a great job. Mike and I got some things done around the RV that was driving us crazy for a while.
Good Sam on daily, $259.00/week, E-30a/W/S, gravel pad, free wi-fi (very fast), easy but tight satellite set-up, some highway noise, amenities at least 10 minutes, laundry, nice campground, great to get repairs done.
