A Wonderful Thanksgiving Day
Nov 22, 2012
|We hope all of you dear readers had a wonderful Thanksgiving day. We certainly did here in Arizona.
Bob & Janet hosted the Thanksgiving dinner at their Site, for Jesse & Ginger, Trent & Teresa and Marilyn & me.
It was a beautiful setting outdoors on another of those awesome days we are getting used to having here.
I have pictures to share with you so that you can see the wonderful setting we enjoyed today.
The food matched the setting as we all ate our fill of delicious food.
I’ll try to remember all of the food. Let’s see…there was Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Dressing, Home made Noodles, Waldorf Salad, Green Bean Casserole, Candied Yams, Corn, Two kinds of Perogies, Cranberry Sauce, Apple Sauce with Cranberries, Hot Rolls, Olives, Three kinds of Pie, Iced Tea, and Wine.
Needless to say, we were stuffed by the time we finished eating.
We all relaxed for awhile, just laughing and talking, enjoying the company of one another.
Then we walked next door to our Site to Bowl a few games on the Wii. The girls decided to take advantage of the four guys who really wanted to nap, and barely eked out three wins out of four games. Well, OK, they stomped us in the first game and then won two of the next three by small margins.
They certainly exploited the bragging rights which came with the wins. LOL
There is a Park Model home here where the owners spend three weeks decorating for Christmas and he unveils it on Thanksgiving evening, turning on the lights and turning on a snow making machine.
We didn’t get pictures of that but will in the next few days and we’ll share those pictures with you folks.
We certainly had a wonderful day today, shared with good friends.
This day reminded us of one of those ideal Old Fashioned Thanksgiving Days we remember from days gone by. Of course the missing ingredients were our children and grandchildren, along with family members we love so much.
When your world is blessed with love and sprinkled with the laughter of good friends, the sharing of good food and fun together, you can be sure that Life is Good!
