Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

After the usual morning coffee, we drove to the Hotel where Marilyn weighed in for her monthly WW weigh-in. She continues to remain well below her goal weight and I am proud of her.

Having only the small fridge in our basement storage bay, we decided to go out for breakfast at Logue’s Restaurant.

With a great breakfast safely stowed away in our tummies we returned to the RV to get busy with preparations to leave.

Marilyn changed the bedding, did several loads of laundry, and totally cleaned the inside of the RV.

While she was busy with that, I worked outdoors.

I made several trips to the dumpster with trash, found a few more things we are leaving behind, a few items we have for the grandkids, straightened the basement, took up the outdoor carpet, and stowed all of the items away someplace.

One bicycle is in the basement storage bay and we may never get it out of there! LOL

The other bike is stowed in the truck bed, in front of the hitch, which required me to move a couple of plastic tubs into other areas.,

Outdoor furniture will travel in the back seat of the truck.

It is a bit chaotic but we are fairly well prepared for now.

Tomorrow we’ll lube the slides, jacks and stabilizers, then air up all 14 tires and the air ride components.

Once that is done we are ready to go and will be on the road bright and early Monday morning.

Today, I called Oasis RV Resort in Amarillo, Texas. They are under new ownership but are open for business.

That is a very nice place to stay but we’ll be there only one night at a rate of $29.25 per night.

I made a reservation at Kartchner Caverns State Park near Benson, Arizona. We’ll stay three nights, Oct 29, 30 and 31st, which will give us time to explore Tombstone and Bisbee, before continuing on to Gold Canyon on Nov 1st.

Other nearby attractions in the Benson and Tucson area will be explored later, during day trips with our friends, Jesse & Ginger.

With showers and fresh, clean clothing we were ready to attend a “Boo Walk” at Indian Creek Campground, with Steve, Jennifer and our grandkids.

It was awesome and we'll soon have some pictures to share with you.

After the Halloween stuff we visited Bob & Janet at their camp sight for a campfire, soup, a hotdog and s’mores.

Life is Good!
