Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Our plans are pretty much set now.

We will leave Hannibal bright and early on Monday morning, meet up with our friends, Bob & Janet, at Monroe City and then continue together to Deer Creek RV Resort in Topeka, Ks.

We plan to meet up with friends for dinner that evening.

John & Lori, Sam & Rhonda and Tom & Berni all live in Topeka, and all are good friends that we hope to see.

On Tuesday morning we’ll be back on the road and will have a travel day longer than most as we will drive all the way to Elk City, Oklahoma.

We will spend two nights at “Rolling Retreats” RV Sales, where we’ll have some work done on the RV’s.

The main repair for us is the cooling unit being changed out on our Dometic Fridge.

Hopefully, Thursday will find us back on the road toward Amarillo. It is a fairly short drive from Elk City and we should have plenty of time to visit Palo Duro Canyon in the afternoon.

Friday will find us back on the road again, with a fairly long day of driving as we plan to travel to Alamagordo, NM.

Two nights there will allow us time to visit the White Sands area.

We look forward to Sunday because a fairly short travel day will take us to Deming, NM, where we hope to go out for dinner with my cousin and her family. They will like Bob & Janet and vice versa.

Monday will put us on I-10 over to the Benson, AZ area where we plan to stay for a few days sightseeing.

Tombstone, Bisbee, Old Tucson, Saguaro Natl Park, maybe Biosphere and whatever else we can work in.

I know that we’ll all be anxious to get on to our destination at Gold Canyon, AZ.

We hope to be there on or close to Nov 1st or maybe the 2nd.

Friends, Jesse & Ginger are already there and will have the area scouted for good places to eat and things to do, so we’ll be in good hands.

So that takes care of our travel plans. Any of you loyal readers who will be nearby or who have suggestions for “Not to be Missed” adventures along the way, please keep us advised.
