Much as I hated to leave Camp Eriez, we have miles to go and people to see so off we went around 10:15 a.m. for the 170-mile leg of our journey to Caledonia, New York where we’ll be for about a week, visiting Billy (my son) and his family and Betsy (my daughter) and her husband.

The vineyards we saw along I-90 are getting ready for late harvest and/or settling in for the winter. Evidently, the areas along Lake Erie are great for grapes because we saw miles and miles of vineyards, much like the miles and miles of soybean fields further west.

Into camp around 1:40. Billy called and asked if we’d be interested in going to the off-Broadway musical of Mary Poppins this evening. Most definitely!! And it was good. Absolute fantastic acting, unbelievable scenery and excellent singing. I couldn’t understand some of what they were saying because it some was very high pitched British accent (especially the kids) but it was still great! I'm glad to see Billy and Lisa are introducing some culture into my grandgirls' lives.

Speaking of kids, my grandgirls are getting too old, too fast! Miss Abbey is turning into quite an attractive 13-year old; Lauren, the middle child, is definitely going to be an actress – look for her on broadway! And then there’s Lexi, who is always smiling…and such a beautiful smile it is. Such a cutie! Okay, off the bragging bench for now.

Went to watch Abbey at her volleyball game. They didn’t win any of the 3 they played but it was nice to see her playing more aggressively than she did last year. She made quite a few nice saves!

Thanksgiving potluck dinner at the campground this evening. As usual, there was a ton of food and we ate too much. Oh, groan!

Today Bob and I drove the 2 hours to see my daughter, Betsy, and her husband, Will. We had a very nice visit and Will made a fantastic dinner!! Shrimp and scallops on toast with Portebello mushroom and herb cream sauce. Oh, so delicious. I was still full from last night and when Will said he would like to make dinner for us, I was on the verge of declining … until he said it was going to be shrimp and scallops. I can make room for shrimp and scallops any time!

We were so pleased to see Betsy looking better than she did just last year. She’s gained a bit of weight and it looks good on her. I did enjoy our visit very much and was a little sad when we had to leave to go home.
