Esperance bay looking east from the Groyne

Tanker Jetty

It's a sea lions life....

We are getting sorted; the parts are as we speak on a plane flying from “the East” (the cheque is in the mail) and hopefully will land at the local airport tomorrow. NRMA have given us a hire car and paid for the accommodation here for another 2 days. So I can’t complain, maybe the Premium Cover for roadside assistance is a bit expensive but when I needed it things have just happened with no fuss or trying to worm out of it.

It’s a small town, everyone knows about our Kia, (everyone stood to attention in the park this morning and stared as it was loaded and taken away, it’s the most exciting thing to happen since the domestic dispute last pension day) we have had the neighbours ask if they can take us downtown etc. but now we have the Getz we are at least mobile, I wonder how Gracie is going to like it in the boot…. The Taxi driver knows the Kia dealer and everyone else in town (“I’ll make sure Les takes the bits straight to Nissan before he goes to the pub” she assured me).

We now have to get to Taree to sort out Carols Aunt so we will go the most direct route from Port Augusta via Broken Hill; it’s about 250km shorter than going the way we were thinking i.e. Thru to Mildura then Hay turn left and go via Bathurst, Mudgee and Merriwa. That’s the taxi driver’s opinion anyway (her sister lives at Forster) I’ll run it thru the route finder anyway to be sure, to be sure…. We want to be home for Carol’s 60th on the 13th…This will mean we won’t be able to catch up with the Gnomes who by now will be 3 days ahead of us.

Fingers crossed the parts get here tomorrow!!!
