Irma at Alamo

Riverwalk 2

Lake Medina Site

Lake Medina is a reservoir NW of San Antonio. The park is big, with spaces under huge oak trees

(huge for Texas, where moat oak trees are small). The only problem is that after 2 years of drought, the lake is mostly empty, with cattle grazing in the grass covered bottom. Interesting, but not a place for water sports. The deer population there is really out of control.

The small deer are always around, sometimes in herds of 20-40 (if someone is feeding them). With no water. the park was nearly empty, so we had the huge pool to ourselves. We met Peggy, Glen, and the girls in San Antonio for some siteseeing, and visited Irma's cousin Bernie at another lake (this one WITH water) a few hours away.
