Our flight left Portland at 6:30 am. We used AA miles and flew first class – what a treat. Our flight was from Portland to Dallas, and then on to Peoria, where we rented a car and then drove to LeeAnn and Jay’s for the night.

We picked up Mom on Sunday for the party at Matt & Sara’s lake house. We spent the entire day just celebrating – everyone enjoying time with Mom, as well as time on the lake, and relaxing in the sunshine. We presented Mom with her gift – a recording of 35 friends and family sending her greetings. She was delighted! Of course, we ate, and ate. Besides the wonderful lunch and sides, we shared smoked pulled pork and smoked salmon. It was a great Labor Day weekend picnic.

Monday, we went to see our new truck, and then spent the afternoon with Mom, before taking her to Jay and LeeAnn’s for dinner to celebrate Tom and Val’s 35th anniversary, and our 42nd. After dinner, we looked at photos and artifacts of the Ewan family – it was great fun.

Tuesday morning, we left Jay and LeeAnn’s before 5:30 am and had a great flight back to Portland through Dallas. On the way home, we stopped to visit Pam, Cousin Mark’s mother-in-law and we shared dinner at Applebee’s. We got home around 9:15 – very tired and crashed into bed.
