The Kids

We are driving to Tulsa right now, to see Kit and Tami. After a couple of nights of Walmart parking lots, we are looking forward to setting up, cleaning up, and enjoying our son.

On the agenda for today: checking out a house that Kit and Tami are interested in buying.

Tomorrow, we hope to get an oil change on the truck, and watching the Olympic Women's soccer semifinals.

Update: We looked at the house that they were considering making an offer on - NO GO! They do not need to settle for something like that! I can best describe it as a 1930's home that one or more DIY'ers got their hands on. There was no sense of structure or flow to the "improvements" made. And some of the projects looked like they were started by one person, finished by another.

So, we stayed over another night, and checked out two more houses after Tami got off work. The last house was so much nicer than the others, and we all really like it. But with a conference call in to Tami's mom, who happens to be a realtor in Camarillo, CA, we are thinking that they will not likely jump into the homeowner pool in Tulsa. There are just too many reasons not to do it, the least of which is that they only plan on being there for 4 more years. There is nothing wrong with their rental, and they should be able to ask for a rent reduction now that they have proved to be such awesome tenants!
