Well we've made it to Massena. Crossed back into the US with NO issues...amazing! It was such a nice day when we did that we decided to not go home just yet. We spent the night at a huge, clean, wonderful campground in Massena, near the Grasse River. We're surrounded by Canadians from Ontario, tons of them here. Based upon prices in CA and prices here I can see why. Lots of them are seasonally here. Very long term set ups with decks and even storage sheds at some sites. It's a really good campground...older but clean.
We did go to the Eisenhower Lock-always amazed at how the lock goes over the road (tunnel under for traffic). We were there after a lovely steak dinner around 8:15 so no one was around, except a security person and one lone information young lady. WE got a brochure on the lock and a phone # to call to find out when boats will be coming through the lock tomorrow. If they're within our time frame for leaving (before noon and not too early) we'll come back to see one go through. If not we'll come back another time since we're only about 2 hrs away.
So for now...we'll enjoy Massena and head out tomorrow.
Love to all,
Ingrid, Joe & Colden
