Pt where france, switzerland and italy meet at top of mountain
| Today was absolutely the most beautiful hike I have ever been on my entire life. We drove through the tunnel (about 10 mile tunnel) from France to Italy and hiked all day with fantastic views of Mt Blanc, glaciers, valleys filled with an awesome variety of wildflowers. We got to a refuge on top of the slopes and enjoyed cappucino and the most delicious chocolate/plum tart. We continued our traverse across the rolling green hills. There was so much to see and everything was so photogenic..i took over 200 pics just today alone! This evening russ, larry, lorna and I enjoyed our happy hour on the patio and for dinner we had delicious turkey, potatoes, fresh broccoli and cauliflower and a lemon crepe for dessert. What a day to be remembered always. I am hoping some of the pics from today will load in this message..we'll see. Today we hiked about 6 hrs. covered 8 miles with about a 2000 ft elevation gain. Great workout! |
