George & Connie go to Deadwood travel blog

Took the cog train to the top of Pikes Peak yesterday. It was warm at the bottom, got rained on the way up, and at the top it was a wind chill of 26 degrees with winds at 35 mph sustained and foggy. In the breaks in the fog you could see Kansas. At the top it is 14, 121 feet above sea level. Some people had hiked to the top, a 6-8 hour trip, and then rode back.

Leaving today and off to New Mexico.
